The Selway-Bitterroot area boasts beautiful alpine lakes and scenery. The Frank Church River-of-No-Return area is famous for its rugged canyons and towering mountains. The Gospel Hump area is famous for its many historic gold mines. Experience the quiet in these three federally protected wilderness areas. Each offer peaceful, exciting vistas with views of 3 states in the far distance and countless mountain tops in between.

Here are a few of the many attractions you may enjoy:

• Nez Perce Indian trails and campsites on the famous original southern route,
• Historic gold mining areas with many old mines and ghost town location
• A lake warm enough to swim in
• A lake too cold to drink at inlet
• Moose
• Mountain big sheep
• Deer and Elk
• Trout fishing in Lakes that were stocked back in 50's and now have great fishing 
• Historic Lookouts and Fire Towers

The trails vary with parts on short wide level sections to narrow up and down breathtaking sections. Our horses are sure-footed and competent on these trails which we ride safely at moderate to slow pace .

The Buffalo Hump Gold Discovery

The snow melt glacial alpine lakes vary from 3 to 15 acres in size. Each is different in character and types of fish. Use casting or fly fishing styles. Lots of different birds and wildflowers are seen at the various elevations.

Wilderness pack trips July and August

• Riding experience is not required. We take people who have never ridden
• Hiking with pack stock trips limited to 14/15 people over age 6
• All participants must be in reasonably good health and fitness level.
• Choose an enjoyable trip into vast historic unchanged part of the country.
• Take a 3-day to 10-day trip in  July, August to fit your schedule.
• Have a change of pace - 3 mile/hr for complete get away from every day life.

We can help you discover these remote areas by foot or horseback. We are equipped to provide you with everything you need, from complete tent camp to hearty cooked meals.
